The Govone Royal Castle Reopens

From March 1st, 2026: New Season and Major Updates to the Tour Route

On Sunday, March 1st, 2026, the Govone Royal Castle reopens to the public. It is one of the Savoy Residences and a UNESCO World Heritage site in the heart of the Langhe and Roero regions.

If you are planning a visit to the Langhe or looking for things to see between Alba, Asti, and Turin, this is the perfect season to discover Govone.

A New Visiting Experience: The Noble Floor Returns to Its Roots as a Residence

The 2026 reopening marks an important milestone in the Castle’s enhancement: the refurnishing of the noble floor.

Thanks to the collaboration with the Fondazione Accorsi-Ometto, the rooms once again dialogue with historical furnishings that allow for a better understanding of daily life at the Castle—first as the home of the Solaro counts and later as a summer residence for the House of Savoy.

No longer just frescoed rooms to admire, but spaces that tell the story of how life was lived in a royal residence between the 18th and 19th centuries.

The new furnishings harmonize perfectly with existing elements of extraordinary value: the Chinese wallpapers, the 19th-century pictorial decorations, and the marbles from the Fountain of Hercules at the Reggia di Venaria.

Visiting the Govone Royal Castle today means enjoying a more complete, immersive, and authentic experience. Yes, even if you’ve seen it before!

Spring at the Castle: Events, Art, and Activities for All Ages

The spring season will bring a calendar of events dedicated to everyone: families, children, and art and culture enthusiasts, featuring exhibitions, community gatherings, special guided tours, and themed activities.

The Castle is not just a museum, but a living place, a cultural landmark for the Langhe and Roero territory.

March kicks off on Saturday the 7th with GOVONE ART and “QUOTIDIANA UMANITÀ,” a photographic exhibition by Marco Mezzani, and concludes with the traditional spring festival, “TULIPANI A CORTE” (Tulips at Court), on Sunday the 29th.

April continues with family activities, themed historical reenactments, and a special opening for Easter Monday on April 6th.

The May program is enriched by GOVONE SMART MUSIC, a musical series featuring three Sundays: 10th “Leggiadrissima eterna primavera” – Danilo Pastore & Vanja Contu | 17th “Di fontane e pupazzetti” – The Rite Duo, four-hand piano, Marco Rinaudo – Stefano Visintainer | 24th Duo Vettoretti Candeli.”

DISCOVER THE VISIT ROUTE

Cross through time as you explore the Castle’s rooms.

DISCOVER GOVONE

THE PARK, THE GARDENS, THE VILLAGE, AND THE HIKING PATHS

Govone extends beyond my walls. It is an entire community that takes care of the magnificent places it inhabits. I invite you to explore everything that surrounds me: the park and the gardens, the greenhouse, the intimate rose garden, the village, and the outdoor trails immersed in nature, which you can explore on foot or by bike.

The park, inhabited by squirrels, woodpeckers, jays, embraces the castle all around with its hedges of boxwood, beech trees, elms, and cypresses.

The gardens gather and showcase Maria Cristina's passion for botany, particularly for roses, displaying various splendid antique varieties.

The historic center extends the visit beyond the castle walls, revealing the authenticity of a village that, while continuing to live, preserves its memory.

The trails lead you along the edges of the constellation of which the castle is the protagonist, through fields, vineyards, and hazelnut groves, allowing you to discover the land.
