From June 14 to August 10, 2025
An exhibition inviting one to look beyond the visible, where the landscape is both pretext and breath.
After words, images. After the narration of stones and rooms, a new voice enters into dialogue with the space of the Royal Castle of Govone: that of the artist Giancarlo Ferraris, with his solo exhibition “Sensitive Landscapes”, open from June 14 to August 10, 2025.
A journey through melancholies, visions and emotional geometries
Ferraris’s “landscapes” are not views, but emotions traced with precision, lightness and depth. Hills that seem to lift into flight, comets, eclipses and vineyards become places of the soul, places where the poetry of form meets the geometry of feeling.
As Ugo Nespolo writes in the critical text dedicated to the artist, Ferraris’s works are “an intimate and, in a way, secret game… capable of telling journeys and fantasies”, between “melancholies and ironies”, rarefied lights and titles that guide the viewer in an almost musical narrative.
The artist
Born in Turin in 1950, Giancarlo Ferraris taught drawing and figure for over a decade at the Art High School. Since the 1970s he has exhibited in solo and group shows throughout Italy, devoting himself passionately to techniques such as watercolor, acrylic and above all printmaking, refined at Mario Calandri’s studio and Piero Nebiolo’s print shop. At the same time, he developed an intense career as a graphic designer and illustrator, creating posters, covers, comics and visual communication campaigns for public bodies and institutions, with an unmistakable style of synthesis and intensity.
