Four Times All the Stars of the Milky Way

Exhibition by Gianni Depaoli at the Royal Castle of Govone

September 13 – November 2, 2025

The Royal Castle of Govone inaugurates the autumn season with an exhibition of great artistic and civic intensity: Four Times All the Stars of the Milky Way, a solo exhibition by Gianni Depaoli curated by Francesca Carbone, in collaboration with GART Contemporary Art Gallery in Neive.

The exhibition, open from September 13 to November 2, 2025, offers a journey of strong emotional and conceptual impact, dedicated to the relationship between humans, nature, and sustainability. Depaoli’s works, created with organic waste from the fishing industry – skins, bones, scales, inks – reflect on the fragility of ecosystems and denounce the consequences of marine pollution and intensive fishing.

The title of the exhibition, evocative and poetic, refers to the staggering amount of microplastics now present in the oceans: an oxymoron that highlights the distance between the beauty of the seabed and the wounds inflicted by humankind.

The exhibition path unfolds between the atrium and the rooms dedicated to contemporary art on the ground floor of the Royal Castle of Govone – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – and continues at the GART headquarters in Neive, where a selection of recent and unpublished works will be presented.

The exhibition, promoted by the Municipality of Govone, is organized with the collaboration of Govone Residenza Sabauda ETS – Govone Arte, the Cultural Promotion Center “Govone and the Castle”, with the support of CoABSeR and under the patronage of Confindustria Cuneo, Ente Turismo Langhe Monferrato Roero, and the City of Alba.

EXPLORE

DISCOVER THE VISIT ROUTE

Cross through time as you explore the Castle’s rooms.

Initially a noble palace, then a royal residence, and finally a community hub for all the people of Govone, the Castle weaves together centuries of history. Visiting it means retracing the steps that shaped it into the multifaceted—and therefore unique—place it is today.

DISCOVER GOVONE

THE PARK, THE GARDENS, THE VILLAGE, AND THE HIKING PATHS

Govone extends beyond my walls. It is an entire community that takes care of the magnificent places it inhabits. I invite you to explore everything that surrounds me: the park and the gardens, the greenhouse, the intimate rose garden, the village, and the outdoor trails immersed in nature, which you can explore on foot or by bike.

The park, inhabited by squirrels, woodpeckers, jays, embraces the castle all around with its hedges of boxwood, beech trees, elms, and cypresses.

The gardens gather and showcase Maria Cristina's passion for botany, particularly for roses, displaying various splendid antique varieties.

The historic center extends the visit beyond the castle walls, revealing the authenticity of a village that, while continuing to live, preserves its memory.

The trails lead you along the edges of the constellation of which the castle is the protagonist, through fields, vineyards, and hazelnut groves, allowing you to discover the land.
