January and February, the two months the castle is closed to the public, have been very intense and productive for carrying out routine maintenance operations and, above all, for advancing the two major restoration sites currently active within the walls of the Royal Castle of Govone concerning the enhancement of:

  • the underground areas, thanks to the contribution of the POR FESR call and Compagnia di San Paolo, Fondazione CRC, Fondazione CRT, and the Municipality of Govone
  • the royal apartments on the noble floor, thanks to the contribution of Fondazione CRC – Cultural Heritage call, Fondazione CRT – Widespread Workshops call, and Associazione Govone Residenza Sabauda.

Work has also been done on defining the programs for events and activities for the upcoming spring, starting with the return of the beautiful community festival open to all, TULIPS AT COURT 2024 edition. Mark your calendars and save the date, in super preview: Sunday, March 24, 2024.

It will be a day full of art, music, nature walks, and activities for children and families, with the village market and lunch offered by the Pro Loco in the town square, in Govone (CN).

And then, a “Regally Pink” May awaits us on the horizon, continue to follow us to not miss all the news and to give yourself unforgettable moments.

In the meantime, take a look at the new video to immerse yourself in the most authentic history of the thousand-year-old walls of the Royal Castle of Govone and discover the wonders hidden in its ancient rooms, among gardens, art, life, and stories of Counts, Kings and Queens, schoolchildren and common people.

ESPLORA

DISCOVER GOVONE

THE PARK, THE GARDENS, THE VILLAGE, AND THE HIKING PATHS

Govone extends beyond my walls. It is an entire community that takes care of the magnificent places it inhabits. I invite you to explore everything that surrounds me: the park and the gardens, the greenhouse, the intimate rose garden, the village, and the outdoor trails immersed in nature, which you can explore on foot or by bike.

The park, inhabited by squirrels, woodpeckers, jays, embraces the castle all around with its hedges of boxwood, beech trees, elms, and cypresses.

The gardens gather and showcase Maria Cristina's passion for botany, particularly for roses, displaying various splendid antique varieties.

The historic center extends the visit beyond the castle walls, revealing the authenticity of a village that, while continuing to live, preserves its memory.

The trails lead you along the edges of the constellation of which the castle is the protagonist, through fields, vineyards, and hazelnut groves, allowing you to discover the land.
